Q&A about: Search and Monitoring

In this post, I’ll share with you some answers to questions PressDisplay.com users asked about our search and monitoring tools.  Feel free to suggest other questions for this post and we’ll do our best to answer them.  Don’t forget to check these two related posts:

1. Can I set up an RSS feed based on my search criteria?

Currently, with PressDisplay.com you can receive either the front page of the newspaper OR the complete newspaper every time it is published on PressDisplay.com.  You cannot set up an RSS feed based on your search criteria at this time.
However, we recognize the value of this feature and so we have added it to our development plan and hope to be able to announce it shortly.

2. Can I set up a monitor to only search specific newspapers?

Yes.  Check out this short video that shows you how to do it.

Well, there’s no real search window, is there?

Also, you need to go after more major newspapers. Your sales department should put on the full-court press to get more of the major papers in various cities and areas. Too many minor papers here.

    Hi Sidney…

There is a search dialogue box and results window in PressDisplay.com. Just click on the search button at the top of the display and it will open up a new page with the search dialogue along the left and results pane to the right of it. You can adjust the parameters of your search in the dialogue box.

As for the major newspapers, I agree with you – I’d love to have many more and our publishing team is working hard at trying to get the major publishers to see the value of their participation on our site. It’s a prime objective of ours to get all the major papers on PressDisplay from all over the world.

Are there commands to narrow the search terms?
For example, I need to search for this phrase “aviation safety network” but instead of having results with that phrase, I get a lot of emails about news which only have one of them, with any relation to the phrase I want.
    Thanks!
