Day 14 of the London 2012 Games
Team Jamaica was an unstoppable force on Day 14 of the Games. Jamaica dominated the Men’s 200 meter podium and swept up all three medals! Usain Bolt came in first place, earning him another Gold medal, and making him the first Olympian to win both the 100 and 200 meter sprint at consecutive Games. Yohan Blake won Silver and Warren Weir took home the Bronze.
Day 14 also marked the start of BMX Cycling. Best friends and rivals Tory Nyhaug of Canada and Connor Fields of USA competed against each other but unfortunately Nyhaug failed to qualify for the semi-finals by just one point. Fields, Australian Sam Willoughby, and defending Gold medalist Maris Strombergs of Latvia were among the riders to move onto the semi-finals.
Events coming up for this weekend include Synchronized Swimming, Men’s 4 x 100 meter relay and Men’s Basketball.
