At any time, publishers reserve the right to add or remove their publication from platform specific PressReader applications.
If a specific publication is available through the PressDisplay.com service and NOT through the PressReader application on a specific platform, NewspaperDirect encourages you to contact the publisher directly to request it be supported on PressReader.

1 PressDisplay.com credit equals 99 cents.
The majority of publications available through the PressDisplay.com service (and by extension, the PressReader application) require 1 credit for purchase on a Pay As You Go basis. In some instances, specific publications may require more than 1 credit for purchase at the request of individual publishers.
As PressDisplay.com credits are included in both the Personal Unlimited and Corporate Unlimited subscription types, only Pay As You Go subscribers are directly affected by the credit value assigned to individual publications.

- Navigate to your iPad or iPhone’s global “Settings”.
- Tap the PressReader application.

Please note that due to the size of the publications stored in the My Library section of PressReader for iPad/iPhone, the Backup Content switch is set to Off by default to avoid the length of time it takes to back up your device through iTunes.
Question: How can I cancel my recurring PressDisplay.com/PressReader subscription?
Answer: To immediately cancel your PressDisplay.com/PressReader subscription, log in to www.pressdisplay.com using your existing account credentials and navigate to My Services > My Accounts > My Subscription. I am using your iPad app and I am extremely disappointed with the performance of this product. It is unstable, freezes for no reason and is very frustrating to use. Because it is so unreliable, I cannot enjoy reading my newspaper. I have even had the app close on its own while attempting to turn a page. Until these problems are addressed, I would discourage anyone from using this app.
Hi Marilyn,
Thanks for your comment. Your sentiment is one we’ve heard frequently over the last several weeks. Plain and simple, PressReader V2.0 missed the mark – at least from a stability point of view. For that, the whole PressReader team apologizes.
I am however really excited to tell you that PressReader V2.1 was submitted to Apple this past Wednesday (November 10th). I can assure you that this version will be much, much more stable and will come with some great new features and functionality.
Hope you’re willing to give it a try when it’s available and thank you for your patience in the meantime.
Michael
Honestly this is by far the best app i have used. I also showed family and friends and they are amazed at the amount of pepers available and the fact its presented to you in paper format. Absolute pleasure to read!!! Please keep up the good work your team has done an outstanding job.
Well done!
Hi Aleks. Glad you’re enjoying the app!
Cheers,
Michael
Very impressive reader. I like reading some of the financial papers as well. Where’s the Wallstreet Journal? Thanks.
Thanks Jeffrey! I’m glad you are enjoying PressReader. We did have WSJE and WSJA for a while, but the publisher decided to do their own app. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t want to have their cake and eat it too with both apps (we do pay them for every copy read by subscribers). Perhaps they don’t need the money
Anyway, we’ll keep trying and if you feel so inclined, write them and ask them to get back on PressReader – every little bit helps!
Cheers
Gayle
So when are we going to get a real pressreader for Android ?
The current solutions for android are so buggy I can’t use them.
Hi Martin. PressReader for Android was released to the Android Market this morning! Check it out through the Market on your device
.
Cheers,
Michael;
Wow ! This appears to be a really good 1st version ! Thanks.
I would appreciate that future releases of the app use the APP2SD flag so that the application can be installed on the SD card, if possible.
Hi,
I just got the pressreader app and was thinking about getting the “personal unlimited” subscription. Unfortunately it doesnt state anywhere how long I have to take the subscription for. Can I just cancel it any time or do I have to pay for a year or something like that?
Hi Daniel. Personal Unlimited subscriptions are paid on a month-by-month basis and can be canceled at any time. To cancel, just send an email to pressdisplay@newspaperdirect.com.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Michael
Security of my personnel data? Do I have to worry about press reader selling my personnel data to other entities?
Hi Gary. Absolutely not! We take the security of our subscribers’ personal information very seriously.
Feel free to read our privacy policy here:

Hope this helps!
Michael
Hi. like your app for the pc and ipod touch. can I start with the pay as you go account and switch to the personal unlimited account in a few days if I start reading more then on paper a day?
Hi Tom. Thanks for the comment. You can switch to the Personal Unlimited account at any time! It definitely provides the most bang for your buck.
Cheers,
Michael
Thank you, thank you……….THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A great app. Thankyou. I appreciate being able to choose the audio for some articles. However after I activate the reading of text in an article, how do I turn it off?
Hi Dorothy,
Thanks for your comment. Once the on-demand audio option is selected, a pause button appears in its place. You will need to click on that pause button to stop the audio. Let me know if you have any additional questions!
Cheers,
Michael
Hi, I love Press Reader as it is one of the only ways to get Canadian newspapers on an android platform – and the selection of newspapers is truly amazing!
I’m considering buying a Xoom Tablet and was wondering if Press Reader is available in a Honeycomb specialized format or if there are plans to make a specialized app for the Honeycomb platform.
Thanks, and keep up the great work!
Hi Robb,
Thanks for the support!
PressReader currently works on the Honeycomb platform but it will be even better with the next release (i.e. the zoom functionality will be improved). I actually managed to test it myself on the Xoom yesterday and I thought it looked pretty darn good
.
Thanks and have fun with your new Xoom!
Michael
This is a amazing piece of technology and intelligence. It is eco friendly, fast, and digitally delivered Newspaper at any part of the world cutting the boundaries and time zones. You never will feel that you are away from Home. The best ever software / app I have ever seen in my Life. There would be so many people copying this app, but Press Reader is unbeatable Stuff. you need to use it to appreciate it. Every dollar spent every month is absolutely worth it. Best Ram.
Hi Ram! Thank you so much for your kind words. Much appreciated! Can I quote you on that?
Don’t forget to rate PressReader in the app store!
Cheers
Gayle
Hi this is an amazing application for he iPad and iPhone, but you have only one newspaper from Ecuador, like EL HOY, but I really appreciate if you make all issues, to put in your site others newspaper from my country like EL COMERCIO (ELCOMERCIO.COM.EC) or EL UNIVERSO (eluniverso.com) those newspaper as El HOY as the three most newspaper read here (Ecuador).
Hi Chalo. Thanks for your PressReader support and publication suggestions. I’ll forward your request off to our publishing team but in the meantime, I’d suggest writing these publishers directly encouraging them to make their newspapers available on PressReader and PressDisplay.com. Readers can have a big influence on the choices publishers make
.
Cheers,
Michael
I have a couple of suggestions for improvements to the Press Reader software on Android:
1) Have an option in settings to turn off the blue highlighting of SmartNavigation elements as I rarely use this and it detracts from the view, and in some cases makes it hard to read the text around it.
2) Have an option in settings to choose the default view when entering the Store. I don’t want to be presented with a list of countries each time I go to the store, I would prefer to go straight to the Favourites view.
Other than those niggles, great app!!!
Hi Gary,
.
Thanks for your suggestions! I’ve passed them along to our product development team for further review. I’m glad you’re liking the app
Cheers,
Michael
When will you have a version for the Playbook?
Hi Mark. Absolutely! There’s a version for the Playbook in the works that should be available in the not too distant future. Stay tuned!
Cheers,
Michael
When will you be releasing a version of PressReader for the HP Touchpad?
Really easy to port your app to WebOS 2!!
Cheers.
Hi, any idea of a time frame for the honeycomb version? the current android version is okay, but the xoom can do much more.
Hi Ger…Thanks for your comment. We’re in the process of getting the Honeycomb version of PressReader submitted into the Android Market. Once it’s there, it’ll probably take a couple of days to get approved so it really is right around the corner. Keep checking back!
Cheers,
Michael
Hi Ger…you can pick up the Honeycomb version of PressReader here: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.newspaperdirect.pressreader.android.hc&feature=search_result

@Michael Oksinski
Hi Michael
Things are going from bad to worse I am afraid. Did the change on the websiteall OK, now the app is not working on the pad.It is not recognising my account, failing to load up countries or accept the papers I selected on the website for download.
Tried to authorise, didn’t recognise the account, obviously there is one otherwise I couldn’t access the website, all very confusing.
I did update the app, could this be an issue causing this. if so should I uninstall the update?
Cheers
Nigel
Hi Nigel,
Sorry to hear you’re experiencing more difficulties. I would suggest uninstalling PressReader completely than reinstalling it from the iTunes App Store. Once you do, try to authorize it again with your user credentials. This should clear away any lingering issues. If it doesn’t, I’ll put you in touch with our support team immediately.
Let me know.
Cheers,
Michael
@Michael Oksinski
In the end I uninstalled the update, plus had to register the account with a different device name but it is now working.
Let see how it goes
Nigel
Hi,
I am using Press Reader App for my Ipad for last five months and I am so happy that I can read at least a ten newspapers a day. Recently I got a Blackberry Playbook and I am eagerly waiting for Pressreader application. Considering the fact that there are not many tablet editions are available for the Playbook, I am desperate to get this app. Please let me know how long will it take Press Reader to be made available on BB PB? Thanks.
Hi Dheerendra. Thanks so much for your post and enthusiasm
. PressReader for PlayBook is right around the corner. Please keep checking back.
Cheers,
Michael
Great app! Fantastic.
If only the UK’s Telegraph would bin it’s own crappy app and allow you dish it’s pages out via PressReader!
Keep up the good work,
Cheerio
Nick
Thanks for the kind words Nick! Glad you’re enjoying the app
.
Michael
Hello,
Thanks for answering my query regarding the release of Pressreader for Blackberry Playbook. I have observed that ‘Authorize’ link is active against Playbook, but there is no download link. Could you please let me know how I can download the Pressreader so that I can authorize the device.
Hi Dheerendra. Good eye
. PressReader for PlayBook should be available for download from BlackBerry App World within the next couple of days. Please keep checking back.
Cheers,
Michael
Hi Michael,
I am sorry to be a nagging bug; but I was just wondering when we can see the Pressreader app on Playbook? ‘The next couple of days’ have come and gone, but I still do not find the ways to download the Pressreader app from the blackberry app world. I hope the delay is from the RIM end, and not from your end. That would be at least be some what reassuring. We are now used to RIM’s tardy ways with PB.
Hi again Dheerendra. I do indeed have an update for you.
PressReader was uploaded to BlackBerry App World this past Wednesday. We’ve been advised by the nice folks at RIM that it’ll take approximately 1 week for the app to be approved so it’s looking like it’ll be available by next Wednesday plus or minus a couple of days. I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Michael
Hi,
I have downloaded the pressreader app for iPad and I am loving it. It is such a great way to access newspapers from the UK. I live in hong kong and miss being able to read a newspaper in the original format.
I have 2 free issues left and looked at the subscription options today. Can you confirm that if I choose the pay as you go, a copy of the guardian or observer will cost me 79p and will include all the supplements or will I be charged 79p for the paper and 79p for each supplement?
Thanks,
Paul
Hi Paul – thanks for your question.
Under the Pay As You Go subscription plan, once you purchase a copy of either the Guardian or Observer, any supplements available on the same day are free to download as well.
Hope that helps and glad you’re enjoying the app!
Michael
Hi!
im interested in getting your app for iPhone! but i dont quite understand your subscription plans… how do they work? Do i get to download as many issues i want per month if i get the “personal” plan?
Hi Miggy – thanks for your question.
With the personal subscription plan, you’re paying for unlimited selection rather than unlimited downloads. What this means is that you can choose to download any single publication available through http://www.pressdisplay.com and PressReader (on your iOS, Android, Win 7 Slate or BlackBerry device) and read it at anytime provided you stay within the terms of our Fair Use Policy. You can read up on the policy here: http://www.pressdisplay.com/pressdisplay/helpandsupport.aspx?subpage=TermsOfUse#Fair%20Use%20Policy. In short, it states that you can download approximately 100 issues per month or 3-4 daily.
Hope this helps!
Michael
Hi,
Any word from Blackberry when they are going to make Pressreader App available on their Playbooks?
- Dheerendra.
Hi,
No word yet either from Blackberry or you as to when this application can be available. It was meant to be released last Wednesday.
Dheerendra R.
Hi Dheerendra,
I wish I had a better update for you but unfortunately all I can tell you at this point is the app is still waiting to be approved by BlackBerry. I apologize for the wait but I’m confident it will be available soon.
Best,
Michael
Hi,
With the recent update the delete function no longer appears to work. It just flashes but doesn’t remove. Any idea what I can do to delete?
Thanks,
Chris
Hi Chris…thanks for your comment.
This is a known issue in version 2.4. To get around it, please tap on the “list view” icon located at the bottom of your My Library screen and proceed to delete any downloaded publications.
Sorry for the inconvenience – the ability to delete downloaded publications in “bookshelf” view will be fixed in our next release.
Cheers,
Michael
Thanks michael, will do.
@Dheerendra
.
Hi Dheerendra…I apologize again for the wait but here it is! http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/52138?lang=en
If you’d like to provide any feedback on the app, we’d be happy to listen
Cheers,
Michael
Hi Michael,
Yes, I already downloaded it from my Appworld yesterday. Thanks a lot.
This morning I started reading newspapers on my playbook. What a pleasant experience it was. Now I can park my 9.7″ iPad2 for reading at home; while I can carry my 7″ Playbook with me. This was one application I was missing on my playbook since the day it was launched. For news buffs like me, there is no greater application than Press Reader. If only other newspapers like Telegraph UK, Times UK, and Outlook magazine India are accessible from PressReader, it would be much better. But again it is upto those newspaper organizations to make a choice. Thanks for bearing with my importunate requests in last few weeks. By the way, I must tell that I had a Samsung Galaxy 7 ” tablet as well earlier. That was where I first downloaded Press Reader application. The current application on Blackberry Playbook is a great improvement, and I found navigating the pages very smooth. Congrats to your entire team.
Dheerendra Raghav.
Glad you’re finally able to enjoy the app Dheerendra!
Cheers,
Michael
Hi,
I have an HP Touchpad and I’ve been wondering when the PressReader app for WebOS will be released since on the WebOS page of your website it only says to stay tuned. I’m currently subscribe to a newspaper and I can’t wait to read it on my Touchpad. Thanks.
Hi Maxime. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but due to HP’s recent announcement, we’ve put PressReader for webOS development on hold for the time being. We’re definitely disappointed with the news but hopeful there’s still life for the platform in the future.
Cheers,
Michael
@Dheerendra R
The UK Times is available on Pressreader and is the main reason I have it. You do have to pay, though – I think it worth it.
Sally
Hi Pressreader,
I love your app. I am a subscriber. In the last 2 days there has been no updated newspapers from The AGE (Fairfax Media in Australia) Have they stopped the Agreement with you? This is one of the reasons I am a subscriber.
Anna
Hi Anna,
We experienced some technical issues receiving our usual feeds from the publisher. It appears however that the most current issues of The Age are available for download once again. I apologize for the inconvenience. Please let me know if everything is working as it should on your end…
Cheers,
Michael
I would like the press reader. But I am looking for two paper that you do not have. Are you going to add more papers?? And is there a spot to request a newspaper that you do not have.
Hi David. Thanks for your comment.
.
We’re constantly adding new publications to PressDisplay.com and PressReader. May I ask which newspapers you’re referring to? Although there is no specific spot to request new publications, I would be more than happy to pass along a note to our publishing department. Also, it never hurts to write the publisher directly asking whether they have a desire to be added to the list of publications available through our products and services. Your voice as a reader can go a long way!
Cheers,
Michael
Hello! I use PressReader for the BB Playbook. I have two questions:
1) How can I delete newspapers? There is no “delete” feature anywhere in PressReader and in the “Settings” there is nothing there related to deleting files either manually or automatically. So after using the app for a month and a half, my Playbook is running out of memory, packed with old newspapers I can’t get rid of!
2) Some newspapers are available on the PressDisplay.com website, and not on the “Store” tab of the Playbook PressDisplay app. Why this difference?
Cheers – Francois
Hi François – thanks for your questions.
To delete newspapers on your PlayBook, simply tap and hold down the title you wish to delete until you receive the deletion prompt. Then simply follow the ensuing instructions.
As far as your second question goes, the decision to make publications available on specific devices and platforms is completely up to publishers. Some choose to make their newspapers available on PressDisplay.com AND every PressReader platform (iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Win 7) while others unfortunately don’t. I’d encourage you to pass a note along to the publisher asking them to reconsider
.
Hope that helps!
Michael
Michael
I am getting great use out of Press Reader and love how it presents the newspaper. I am using the BB Playbook. There is one niggle however. When I click on the blued out headline to open the text the first screen I get whether portrait or landscape has many columns , and needs scolling, therefore not at all easy to use. If I turn the PB through 90 degrees in the new orientation it is fine and page turning works fine.
Am I doing anything wrong or is this something you should be looking at to fix ?
Andrew
Hi Andrew…thanks for your question.
.
The issue you’re describing is a known bug with the first release of PressReader for PlayBook. I’ve been advised by our Product Manager that the issue has been fixed in the next version which is set to be released shortly! Thanks for your patience and please keep your eye out for the release

The latest update (3.5 i think) failed to update/install on Asus Transformer with 3.2 stock. I tried fresh install instead of update – failed as well. I’ve got no Press Reader at all now. Great job guys!

Hi Rafal…I apologize for the inconvenience. A new version of the app was just uploaded to the Android Market. Please let me know if you have any additional problems.

Hello, what is the impact of the new iOs 5 Newsstand function and the PressReader.
What is the integration point or, will out subscribed newspaper will be transfered into the Newsstand? Of course, I still want to use your app as I access it thru various platform (Windows, Android and iOs).
Thanks
Hi Jacques. Thanks for your comment on the PressDisplay Blog.
Regarding iOS 5 Newsstand, there is no real impact to our service. PressReader will eventually be available through it but users will continue subscribing through PressDisplay.com. Basically, other than where you’ll access it on your iOS device, nothing else will change.
Cheers,
Michael
Hello – since iOS 5 pressreader seems to have some bug and problem in terms of reading and also accessibility to menu. When can we hope to see an update to it that will support the new newsstand of IOS 5.
Thanks in advance for the heads-up
Hi Mathieu. Thanks for your comment on the PressDisplay Blog.
We’re planning on submitting a new release to Apple shortly optimized for iOS 5.
Thanks for your patience in the meantime and please stay tuned!
Cheers,
Michael
Since iOS5 I can only access the first item in the ‘Select Store’ menu and can’t press cancel.
Hi Peter. A new iOS 5 compatible version of PressReader was submitted to Apple yesterday which will address the issue you currently have with the app. Stay tuned!
Cheers,
Michael
Hey Peter. The new version is ready for download! Let us know how you like it!
Thanks,
Michael
Hello,
On the 12th October, I installed the iOS 5 and since then I have been unable to use the menu which authorizes the Press Display account. For this reason I have been obliged to buy my newspapers in the pay-as-you-go mode. I have also been unable to change the number of days in which the newspapers are kept in the iPad. I hope to see a solution for this problem as soon as possible.
Thanks.
Hi Ruibebiano…
I apologize for the inconvenience. We did submit a new iOS 5 compatible version of PressReader to Apple yesterday. I’m crossing my finger it won’t take long for it to get a approved. Thanks for your patience in the meantime.

Michael
The new release is ready for download! Let us know how you like it

How do I delete old downloads from my Android Honeycomb device (Asus Eee Transformer)?
Hi Ian. To delete old downloads on your Asus Eee Transformer, simply tap and hold the publication you wish to remove. After several seconds, you’ll be prompted to delete either that specific publication or all publications you have in your library.
Hope that helps!
Cheers,
Michael
good service thanx
Thanks Ivantha!
Since i downloaded the new version for ios5, its no longer recognzing my apple id so i cant download newspapers. Do i need to re-register with press reader? If so, how?
Hi Nancy. I’m sorry to hear you’re having problems with the latest iOS 5 version. Have you tried deleting PressReader then re-installing it? If you haven’t, please let me know if this works.
Cheers,
Michael
Hello,
So far good update, can’t wait to see the new reader though
Will the app be compatible in a short term with the new kiosk app that came with ios5. I find myself enjoying the way I see my magazine and newspaper through this app. Any plan to let our subscription be available trough kiosk – since it’s only build a bridge to an application like pressreader.
Thanks for the answer.
Hi,
How do I download “The Age” if I am unable to view it due to it being blocked for viewing in Australia?
Does this mean “The Age” is no longer available for viewing via PressReader in Aus?
thanks
Hi Greg. Thanks for your question. Unfortunately, The Age is no longer available on PressReader for those living in Australia. This is a regional restriction however I do want to emphasize that this was a decision made by Fairfax and not NewspaperDirect. As a company, we want as many publications available to readers regardless of where they live in the world so we really do feel bad for Australian readers in this particular instance. I would encourage you to contact Fairfax directly and express your desire to read The Age via PressReader. If enough people voice their opinion, we’re hopeful they’ll have a change of heart.
Cheers,
Michael
hi i downloaded pressreader for the playbook and i wanted to purchase the age publication in australia. but it wont let me? help?
@victor
sorry silly question just saw the above comment
I have re-installed PressReader at least 4 times, re-authorized it more than a dozen times, but still have the same problem after 5-6 months: The last newspaper in my library disappears seemingly randomly after just 2 weeks, regardless of how I have the program configured to keep the downloaded papers in the library (1 month, 3 months, never).
Needless to say this is extremely annoying, and I am actively searching for an alternative app for my news that doesn’t randomly cleaning my house for me.
Regards,
mondo
Hi mondovolleyball. I apologize however there is an explanation for your newspapers disappearing seemingly randomly. Despite having the ability to remove downloaded publications after a specific period of time (never, after 3, 7, 14 and 30 days), offline storage terms are set by the publisher and vary by publication. Many publications have no storage restrictions at all. In this case, the specific setting you select will work without any issues.
For the publications that do have restrictions, any downloads will automatically delete after x number of days. Again I’d just like to emphasize that this is a decision the publisher makes and not us.
The offline storage restriction is mentioned when signing up to PressDisplay.com: https://www.pressdisplay.com/pressdisplay/accountingregistration.aspx
Can you tell me which publications are disappearing on you? Once you do, I’ll be able to tell you how long you can store them for.
I do apologize once again however I hope the explanation I provided helps clarify the issue.
Cheers,
Michael
Hi I’m using Pressreader on Android Gingerbread and I’m quite happy with it. The only function I miss is an option for changing font style and screen background. Reading with a black background not only saves battery live but also more comfortable for the eyes.
Are there any plans to add this feature in a future release ?
Thanks
Cheers,
Urs
Hi Urs,
Thanks for your comment. I’ll check whether those specific features are in the works. in the meantime, I’ve forwarded your suggestions to our product development team for review.
Cheers,
Michael
I think pressreader is a good app

Hi, I need to delete 2 devices from my account. I no longer own the devices. It is now stopping me from adding the new one I have.

3. Click on “My Account”.
4. Click on “PressReader” in the left pane menu.
5. Click the “Deauthorize” option next to the device you no longer wish to use.

Do you know PressDisplay on Windows Phone crashes from the start! Its useless. Mine is LG, I saw in the comments in WM Market the same comments.
Carlos E Anzola
Thanks.
I tried this but none of my devices are coming up. Not a single one.
When I use PressReader, I see the 5 devices that I can download to but not on the “My Devices” areas.
Any other help?
Hi Ade. Sorry for the delayed response. Can you please email me at michaelo [at] newspaperdirect [dot] com. I’d be more than happy to assist you.

Are supplements counted as one newspaper. Also where can I find If i have gone over my daily allowance/monthly allowance. I am on the personal subscription plan. Thanks.
Hi Stephen. Supplements are not counted. Once a main publication is downloaded, its supplements can be downloaded without being adding to your daily/monthly allowance. The allowance is actually just based off our fair usage policy. For the personal subscription plan, this amounts to 100 publications per month or approximately 3-4 publications per day. You can read about it on at http://www.pressdisplay.com/pressdisplay/helpandsupport.aspx?subpage=TermsOfUse#Fair%20Use%20Policy.
Cheers,
Michael
My question relates to casual subscription costs. Where it is 0.99 cents per download hows does that apply…say…to the UK daily telegraph? This is in four or five parts, Main, Sport, Business etc etc each of which are separate download…is the whole paper included for 99 cents or do I end up paying 4 x 0.99 for each part….that makes it an expense newspaper.
Hi Robin,
Thanks for your question. Once the main publication is downloaded, you are free to download any number (or all) of the supplements free of charge. If you purchased the Daily Telegraph for .99 cents, you have the ability to download its supplements at no extra cost.
Hope that helps!
Cheers,
Michael
What is your suggestion to help me download Pressreader on my hp Touchpad? Thanks.
Hi Wafaa…To view and download PressReader (on a Wi-Fi only device), please go to the HP App Catalog on the device and search for the app by name. You can also view it online at https://developer.palm.com/appredirect/?packageid=com.newspaperdirect.pressreader.

Hi,
2 questions. How can I delete older downloads on a Blackberry Playbook?
Also, do you have a “new publications” sections on your site? That could be convenient.
Thanks
Hi Claude – thanks for your questions.
To delete publications downloaded on your Playbook, simply touch and hold the publication you’d like to delete. You’ll then be prompted with several options.
There is no specific new publications area on PressDisplay.com or PressReader but we try and post the new titles we’ve add to our service each month on the PressDisplay Blog. Here’s an example from the month of October: http://blog.pressdisplay.com/2011/11/22/new-to-newspaperdirect-october-2011/. If you register to the blog, you’ll be notified each time there’s a new post.
Hope that helps!

Hi,
I have access to the Wall Street Journal Europe when I open the Press Reader app on my computer, but when I open the Press Reader app on my Galaxy Tab it is nowhere to be found. Can someone help?
Thank you,
JF
Hi JF. Thanks for you question…unfortunately not all publications available on PressDisplay.com or the Windows version of PressReader are available on PressReader for iOS or Android. As much as we encourage publishers to make their publications available across all of our platforms, this choice is ultimately up to them. I would encourage you to write the publisher directly and express your interest in having the WSJE available on PressReader for Android
.
I hope that helps!
Cheers,
Michael
Hi
Love the Pressreader on the ipad and have been very happy with it up to a few weeks ago.I have it set to never delete any issues I download but in the last couple of weeks my downloaded issues of the Irish Independent have just disappeared.
Very frustrating. Any reason for this ?
Ger W
Hi Ger,
Thanks for you question and thanks for the support.
Offline storage terms are set by individual publishers and vary from publication to publication as outlined on the PressDisplay.com registration page: https://www.pressdisplay.com/pressdisplay/accountingregistration.aspx.
Despite having PressReader set to never delete downloaded issues, the specific offline storage term for any given publication will override your settings and automatically delete issues after x amount of days. If there is no storage term in place, you would be able to keep the issues you downloaded indefinitely.
I’ll check to see if the Irish Independent recently changed their policy and get back to you.
Hope this helps for now!
Cheers,
Michael
I would like to be able to view newspapers on my nook, but the e-reader export looks terrible. And I don’t always have access to a computer to download the e-reader version. I want to be able to just have the PressReader app from the Android market on my Nook. Is this possible? I don’t want to root my phone.
Thanks.
Hi Joe,
We’re currently in the process of uploading a version of PressReader to the Nook Developer’s site. Once it’s approved, you’ll be able to download PressReader directly to your Nook device.
Please check back soon. I hope this helps!
Cheers,
Michael
I subscribe online to the e-edition of a local newspaper that is available through newspaperdirect.com (the Rappahannock News in Virginia, US). When I try to read the paper on my Pressreader app on my iPad it asks me to buy a copy but I have a subscription to the paper. Are these two applications/websites different?
Hi Flergen,
.
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Have you tried authorizing PressReader with your Rappahannock News online e-edition credentials?
To do so, simply open PressReader, tap Settings and enter your existing account credentials. Then, just tap the Authorize button.
Let me know if this works
Cheers,
Michael
Hello, my credit card has changed. Where can I update it for my pressreader subscription?
Thanks
C
Hi Christian,
Sorry for the delay in responding to you. To update your credit card, you will need to log into http://www.pressdisplay.com with your existing account credentials. Once you’re there, click on My Services, My Account, and finally on Credit Card (located in the left hand pane). You will be able to update your card there. I hope that helps!

Hi Michael.
Is there a reason it costs more for PressReader subscription through iTunes then it does by subscribing online? I’m in Canada, so I know there’s a slight difference for the exchange rate, but not this much. Your subscription is usually $29.95US, but iTunes wants to charge me $33.99CAD. That’s a big difference when the exchange rate is only about $1.02CAD to $1 US.
Hi Lonnie…thanks for your question.
It actually has nothing to do with exchange rate. The difference in price is what Apple is tacking on to our USD $29.95 subscription rate. It really boils down to choice – some users may prefer subscribing directly through iTunes rather than http://www.pressdisplay.com. If they do however, they’ll be dinged a few extra dollars by Apple, not NewspaperDirect. I would suggest subscribing online at https://www.pressdisplay.com/pressdisplay/accountingregistration.aspx for the 29.95 rate.
Hope that helps!
Cheers,
Michael
@Michael Oksinski
Thanks for the quick reply.
The only other issue I have is canceling a individual subscription. I have one to the Winipeg Sun and want cancel the auto renewal so can switch t the 29.95 deal. What’s the best way to approach that?
Why two prices?
Your site states $29.95 a sub and the istore asking $35?
Even current exchange rate thats $31 in my currency…
Not good
Hi Reg.
Thanks for your comment. I am sorry for the confusion. We just recently offered PressReader subscriptions directly through iTunes but had to do it under the Apple “rules” which require us to pay Apple 30% on every sale through their store.
There is no overhead like that when purchasing PressReader through us directly. So that’s the difference. If you purchase PressReader through iTunes, it’s more expensive and it only allows you to use PressReader on iOS devices.
If your purchase PressReader at $29.95/month USD from http://www.pressdisplay.com, you can use it on up to 6 devices including iOS, Android, Playbook, eReaders and computers. So you see, it’s a much better deal to purchase directly from us. Think of it as buying wholesale
Hope this helps clarify it for you.
Cheers,
Gayle
I have just purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab P7510 with the android version 3.1 and to my dismay find that there is no Press Reader app for it! (Just gingerbread & Honeycomb) When will one become available? Please help because I bought this for my wife’s birthday and she reads the papers every day.
Hi and thanks for your question on the PressDisplay Blog. With version 3.1 of Android, you’re able to download PressReader for Honeycomb directly from the Android Market: http://bit.ly/v4tfWL
Please let me know if you need additional help
Cheers,
Michael
I really love the PressReader app for the iPad.
I recently received the new iPad, and I’m happy to report that your app works even more smoothly on it. However, it appears as though the text is not taking advantage of the retina display in the “Page View”. I have a strong preference for the “Page View,” since it best replicates the experience of reading the paper.
Can you say when retina-quality text will be available in the “page view”?
Thanks again for offering a great product.
Hi Michael – Glad you’re enjoying PressReader
.
We’ll have an updated version of the app which will support retina display available shortly. It’ll also come with a couple of other new and nifty features.
Please check back soon.
Cheers,

Hi,
By misake, I deleted an issue of El País-EPS I wanted to keep. Is there any way to get it back again?
Thanks
Hi Monica,
Thanks for your question. Once you purchase a publication, you’re able to re-download it at no additional charge. Is it a recent issue of El Pais?
Cheers,
Michael

How then do I de-authorise one of the devices in order to authorise the new Ipad3 please.. I suspect it will be one of the iPhones I de-authorise
Hi Paul
To de-authorize one of your older devices, navigate to http://www.pressdisplay.com and log in. Then, click on My Services > My Account > PressReader (in the left hand menu). You’ll then be able to see all the devices you have authorized. Simply click the de-authorize option next to the device you no longer with to use.

I have been using press reader to download the Irish Times every day on my iPad and cannot manage without it. This morning (30th March 2012) I cannot download the today’s issue. It keeps wanting to download yesterday’s paper. What is the problem?
Hi Randal,
May I ask what device you’re using to download the publication? I just downloaded the March 30th issue of the Irish Times onto my iPad. I also see the most current issue available on http://www.pressdisplay.com. Can you please let me know if it’s still missing on your end?
Best Regards,
Michael
Good morning. I just bought the latest ASUS transformer prime with OS ice cream sandwich. When will you have a pressreader app for ice cream sandwich for reading the NY TIMES? I use the service now on my windows 7 laptop and love the service!!!
thanks
Barry
Hi Barry,
. I do know that the NYT will not be available as part of PressReader (at least for the time being). I’ll touch base with our publishing team to see if there are any future plans to build an app specifically for the publication.
Thank you! I’m really glad you’re enjoying the service. We will have a new version of PressReader optimized for Ice Cream Sandwich available in the next couple of weeks. It’s looking really slick
Cheers,
Michael
I am still waiting for a response about my problem with pressreader
thank you Michael.
2 questions:
What can I do to help make the new app available for NYT- should I call them and urge them to get with it?
Does it mean to read a a newspaper on my new tablet (with the new ice cream sandwich app) requires me to buy another sub form another newspaper publisher?
Michael
It is working today. Although I could see the Irish Times dated 30th, when I tried to download it reverted to the 29th. But no problem now thanks.
@Michael Oksinski
@Michael Oksinski
Oh, wow. I just got the update with retina support. I don’t know what to say … My newspapers are so beautiful … I love it so much! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Hi. Love the retina display. However I cannot seem to make the language translation work. I’ve used Le Monde and Le Soliel. It has a green bar telling me it’s translated to English, but with the exception of a couple of headlines in Le Monde nothing is changed. Any suggestions?
Other than this I love the app!
Ian
Hi.
I’m a happy long-term subscriber. However, the latest update won’t open on my iPad 2; I see the loading screen for a second, then it crashes back to the springboard.
I’ve tried restarting the iPad, deleting the app both on the device and through iTunes then restoring it both from iTunes and the App Store.
I’m using a Mac, but can’t revert to the previous version through Time Machine as iTunes stores apps on a separate hard drive.
Is this a known issue?
Thanks,
Darren
Hi Michael,
Is there a list on this page of which newspapers are available?
Hi David,
Sorry for the delayed reponse. You can view our entire list of publications at http://newspaperdirect.com/newspapers/titles.aspx.
Cheers,
Michael
When are you going to bring out a bug-free version of Pressreader for Mac. The version I have (Version 5.0.9.1119) is the only program I have that “hangs” after which I have to do a hard re-boot.
This usually happens after the dreaded “grey screen”
Hi Steve,
I’m really sorry to hear about the problems you’re having. We’ll have a fully re-designed PressReader app for Mac available by mid summer. Mac users are looking forward to it!
Cheers,
Michael

OK there it goes, as I’m Canadian, I’m thinking of buying the Kobo Kox (Android 2.3 – Gingerbread ) I like to know if I can get PressReader and PressDisplay with no problem with this E-reader?
Larry
Hi Larry

I am interested in the Economy Plan which I believe is $10.00 for 31 credits per month. How do I register for it?
Thanks,

Install IOS6 on Touch (Latest) and now when reading a paper it crashes all the time, with all paper I downloaded. The APP is unusable. Wont upgrade my iPhone or iPad until this is solve.

I am using Pressreader on a Playbook tablet and the automatic delete of old publications doesnt seem to work . Also despite the fact I have read a paper often it is still flagged as NEW.
How do I delete old issues in this case please? I am using OS 2.1.0.1032
Hi Tony
Thanks for your question on the PressDisplay. To delete individual issues you no longer need, you simply need to tap and hold (i.e. long press) the publication in question. Once you’ve held it down for several seconds, you will be prompted to delete the title.
Thank you for letting me know the option to have publications auto-deleted is not working. I’ll forward this to our support team for further investigation.
Best Regards,
Michael
How do I de-authorize a device I no longer have. I am unable to de-authorize them, as directed, via the application as I no longer have access to the devices? When I attempt to authorize I’m told I’ve reached my limit. I actually only have 2 devices running Press Reader. What’s the solution?
Hi Da Phurm,
To de-authorize a specific device, simply navigate to http://www.pressdisplay.com and log in with your user credentials. Then:
1. Click on My Services
2. Click on My Account
3. In the left-hand menu, click on PressReader
4. Click on the de-authorize link to the right of the device in question.

When is press reader going to support the windows surface tablet?
Hi Phil
Thanks for your comment on the PressDisplay Blog. A version of the app that supports Windows RT has just been submitted to Microsoft for certification. It should be available in the very near future.
Best Regards,
Michael
I would like to know whether PressReader plans to support Windows RT. If yes, when do you plan to release the first trial version.
Regards,
Somphote
Hi Somphote
Thanks for your comment on the PressDisplay Blog. A new version of the app which supports Windows RT has just been submitted to Microsoft for certification. It should be available in the very near future. Please keep an eye out for the announcement.

I have since a week problems with download news papers. Today I did’t receive journal de quebec can you give me information about that and correct this problem
Hi Dbisson,
We are aware of the problem and we’re working on getting it back up asap. Please read our letter from our CEO: http://blog.pressdisplay.com/2012/12/12/letter-from-our-ceo/
Sorry for the trouble.
-Dedy
Generally very happy with Pressreader for the playbook. After using the pay as you go service for several months I cancelled the delivery of both my local paper and the Globe and Mail and subscribed to your monthly service. That has been working great for about 3 months.
In the past few weeks however there has been a couple of days (including today) where the papers were not available first thing in the morning. I hope this is not a sign of an emergent problem.
Hi Bill,
We are aware of the problem and we’re working on getting it back up asap. Please read our letter from our CEO: http://blog.pressdisplay.com/2012/12/12/letter-from-our-ceo/
Sorry for the trouble.

The android and ipad platforms are supported. But I want to read the Pressreader newspapers on my PC and laptop. Will the newspapers appear as Replicas of the print editions on a PC and/or laptop?
Hi Alan
Thanks for your comment on the PressDisplay Blog. You can actually view publications online at http://www.pressdisplay.com. May I ask what operating system is installed on your laptop and desktop? I can certainly point you to the right version of PressReader.
Cheers
Michael
I installed the Press Display app on my MacBook Pro but when I click on it I am asked to authorize. However, I am not registered and there is no information on how I register, so I can’t authorize to gain access to the app
Hi David…Thanks for your comment on the PressDisplay Blog. Unfortunately, there is no in app registration available through PressReader for Mac (Apple had asked us to remove any reference to PressReader’s online companion website, http://www.pressdisplay.com).
To register for the app, simply navigate to http://www.pressdisplay.com and select an appropriate subscription package. Once you’re account is set up, you’ll be able to authorize PressReader on your MacBook Pro using those credentials.
Hope this helps!
Cheers
Michael
